POLYURETHANE PRIMARY CLEANERS
Super XHD & XHD primaries
Moulded polyurethane blades on a slide frame. This is a separate construction from the Primary Head Cleaner suspension-arm arrangement.

Ideally a cleaner should remove material into the head chute without damaging the belt. Correct selection, mounting coordinates, tip or blade contact and routine servicing all matter.
CLEANER RANGE
Identify the construction as well as the cleaning position.

SUSPENSION-ARM CONFIGURATION
Individual tungsten tips on suspension arms and cushions, with a separate moulded polyurethane suspension-arm option.
View cleaner details ↗Cleaner construction, belt direction, splice passage and service access are part of the selection.
TRAILING-TIP CONFIGURATION
Trailing tungsten tips on individual cushions for residual cleaning directly beneath the head pulley.

REVERSING-TIP CONFIGURATION
A reversing tip and cushion on a pole. Confirm the complete assembly for runback, brief reverse travel or conveying in both directions.

CURVED SECONDARY / TERTIARY CONFIGURATION
A curved cleaning element for residual fines or wet material, with tungsten-tipped and polyurethane options.

SLIDE-FRAME CONSTRUCTION
A slide frame carries tool-steel blades or tungsten tips. Allow a clear service-side withdrawal path.

INNER BELT FACE
Floating and torsion V-ploughs, plus diagonal ploughs for one-sided material discharge.

MOUNTS AND RESTRAINTS
Check the support poles, mounting plates, suspension and restraint chain as well as the blades. The plough needs clearance to follow the belt without contacting the pulley or structure.

Carryback is the material still adhering to the belt after normal discharge. These figures apply to that residue, not the full conveyor tonnage.
| Cleaning arrangement | Removal guide | What the figure covers |
|---|---|---|
| Polyurethane primary | 50–70% typical | Initial carryback remaining after discharge. A general polyurethane benchmark, not a Super XHD rating. |
| Primary + secondary | Can exceed 90% | Total removal across both cleaning stages; not another 90% added to the primary result. |
| Primary + additional secondary / tertiary | Up to 90–95% | Cumulative removal for a staged system, not a separate tertiary-only efficiency. |
| Individual tungsten-tip cleaners | No universal % | Assess the complete cleaner arrangement. Stage benchmarks are not individual cleaner ratings. |
| Spray / wash systems | Application-specific | No universal removal percentage applies to every installation. |
| Return ploughs | Not comparable | Remove loose material from the inner belt face, rather than the same carryback layer. |
Use a consistent baseline and compare residue under equivalent operating conditions. These are indicative benchmarks, not guaranteed Superior performance ratings.
SUPERIOR CONVEYOR TECHNICIANS
Check the belt, splice, mounting coordinates, tip retention and support condition. Record the settings, work completed and next inspection requirements.
